AND TAIPEI ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL CENTRE IN NEW DELHI INDIA-TAIWAN PROGRAMME OF COOPERATION IN SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY CALL FOR JOINT RESEARCH PROJECT PROPOSALS CALL CLOSING DATE : 31st August 2009 Pursuant to the signing of an Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) between the Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre(TECC) in New Delhi and the India - Taipei Association (ITA) in Taipei on Scientific & Technological cooperation in Taipei on 18th April 2007, and in line with the decisions taken at the 2nd meeting of India - Taiwan Joint Committee on Cooperation in Science & Technology held in New Delhi on the 19th of February, 2009, the Department of Science & Technology (DST) and the National Science Council of Taiwan, as nodal agencies to implement the programme of cooperation in India and Taiwan on the respective sides, invites joint research proposals for implementation during the next three year period (2010 - 2012). Areas for R&D projects Projects for financial support in the following broad subject areas will be supported -
The financial support is available only for mobility of scientists/ researchers from each side. Normally 2 visits per year from each side for 3 years would be available. a)Indian scientists visiting Taiwan - Furnished accommodation in Hotel/ guest house plus per-diem @ 1000 NTD per day for visits up to 30 days and 700 NTD per day for each additional day beyond 30 days towards boarding and out of pocket expenses. b)Taiwanese scientist visiting India - Furnished accommodation in Hotel / guest house plus per-diem @ Rs 1000/- per day for visits up to 30 days and Rs 700/- per day for each additional day beyond 30 days towards boarding and out of pocket expenses. Up to 10 joint research projects would be supported against the present call and the likely date for start of the projects is the 1st of January 2010. Eligibility Programme is open to Scientists, Engineers; Institutions engaged in advance research in the above referred areas in India and Taiwan. The Joint project proposals may be submitted by the Indian partner to DST and by the Taiwanese partners to NSC in the prescribed format at Annexure-I. The preparatory or exploratory visit proposals may be submitted jointly in prescribed format at Annexure-II. Application forms and guidelines may be downloaded from www.gita.org.in under "New initiatives heading". Last date and submission of applications The project proposals completed in all respect must be received by both sides latest by the 31st of August 2009. Proposals submitted unilaterally shall not be considered. Advance copies of the proposals shall not be accepted.
