"GITA was launched in May 2007 by Hon'ble Minister for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, Mr. Kapil Sibal aims to make the programmes more goal oriented with greater participation from industry and academia. The initiative is being steered by Dr. T Ramasami, Secretary, DST and Mr. Hari Bhartia, President, CII. The Governing Body has repesentation from both government and industry. Overall initiatives are being led by Dr. A K Sood, Head (International Cooperation Division), DST and Mr. Anjan Das, Senior Director, CII Management & implementation of S&T programmes, initiative development and coordination of activities are currently being done by a team of dedicated professionals."
